Apple Raisin Bread Pudding

Ingredients

4 cups bread cubes
2 cups hot water or skim milk
2/3 cups brown sugar
1/2 cups raisins
2 apples, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large egg whites, beaten until just foamy

Directions

  1. Combine bread cubes, raisins, and apples in large bowl. Add water or milk and sugar.
  2. Mix thoroughly and let stand for 30 minutes. Add egg whites, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly and pour into a 1 1/2-quart sprayed casserole.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees (F), uncovered for 45 minutes until set and lightly browned
