Apple crisp is wonderful anytime but is well suited for festive holidays like Purim and Hanukkah.

Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs. tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 tbs lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tbs honey
Topping
6 tbs butter, cut into 1/2” pieces
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Mix apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, lemon zest and honey and arrange evenly in lightly oiled 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Mix topping ingredients thoroughly and spread evenly over the apple mix.
- Bake at 375 degrees (F) for 40 minutes. Topping should be browned and crisp and apples should be soft.
- Serve warm.
