Ingredients
1/3 cup parve margarine, melted
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup plus 1 tbl. all-purpose flour
Topping:
1/2 cup parve margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions
- Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla until white. Add melted margarine and mix.
- Sift the flour and baking powder and add to egg mixture, mixing lightly.
- Pour in greased (okay, 'margarined') 10 inch pan and bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees (F).
- While cake is baking, prepare the topping. Melt the margarine on medium heat, add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Pour the topping gently on the cake and return it to the oven for another 20 minutes.
