Babanatza (Passover Dessert)

This Passover recipe is sweet and relatively easy to make.

Ingredients

8 matza squares
9 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup ground raisins
1 cup ground walnuts
Oil

Directions

  1. Soak matza in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. Beat eggs for 5 minutes (in mixer), then add sugar gradually, beating for an additional 10 minutes.
  3. Combine the matza, eggs mixture, raisins and half the walnuts and mix well.
  4. Layer mix into an oiled 8 x 12 inch baking dish and sprinkle the top with the remaining nuts.
  5. Drizzle with oil and bake at 350 F for 45 minutes.
  6. Cut into 2 inch squares.
