Ingredients

Topping:
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. Ground cinnamon

Kugel:
1/2 lb. medium egg noodles
4 large eggs
8 oz. Cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained

Directions

  1. Prepare topping by mixing all ingredients and set aside.
  2. Cook noodles al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. Beat eggs, cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, butter and salt at medium speed with electric mixer, 5 minutes.
  4. Combine pineapple, noodles and egg mixture and pour into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees (F).
  5. Remove kugel from oven and sprinkle with topping. Bake 15 minutes more or until set and golden brown.
