Apple Pound Cake

Ingredients

3 cups flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup cooking oil
4 eggs
1/2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
Juice of 1 orange
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 large tart apples, peeled and sliced
2 teaspoons cinnamon
5 tablespoons sugar

Directions

  1. Mix together apples, cinnamon and 5 Tbsp sugar. Set aside.
  2. In large bowl, beat together 2 1/2 cups sugar, oil, eggs, orange juice and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together; add a little at a time to previous mixture and mix well.
  4. Lightly grease and flour large bundt pan. Put half the batter in pan, then half the apples. Add remaining batter and then the rest of the apples on top. Bake at 350 degrees (F) 1 hour 45 minutes.
