Easy Brisket with Chili Sauce

Using cans of coke in brisket recipes is popular these days. The reason is that the coke helps tenderize the meat because of it's sugar content (sorry diet cola lovers).

Ingredients

6 lb. brisket
1/2 cup all purpose flour
4 tbl. vegetable oil
1 can of coke (12 oz.)
1 jar of Heinz Chili Sauce (12 oz.)
1 large green bell pepper
1 large yellow onion

Directions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot. Dredge brisket in flour, then transfer to pot and brown on all sides.
  2. Chop the bell pepper and onion and add to the pot. Pour the coke and chili sauce over the brisket.
  3. Cover the pot and bake in 325 degree oven for 3-1/2 hours or until very tender.
