This spicy dish is easy to make if the spice mix is readily available. Buy the mix or make it yourself with the recipe available on JRT.

Ingredients
1 pound brown lentils
6 cups vegetable broth
6 cups mild green chilies roasted, peeled, seeded and chopped
2 red onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons berbere (spice mixture)
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Bring lentils and broth to boil and simmer 10 minutes.
- Add chilies, onion, garlic, and berbere spices and cook covered for another 30 minutes, until most of liquid is absorbed.
- Serve with ground black pepper to taste.
