Add potatoes to the roasting pan to make a complete meal. Add potatoes for the last hour and add extra salt if you do so.

Ingredients
4 lb. brisket of beef
3 tbs. cake meal
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups cooked or canned tomatoes
2 medium onions, sliced
1 small green pepper, diced
1/2 cup diced celery.
Directions
- Brown meat slowly in heavy roasting pan
- Combine cake meal, salt, pepper and garlic powder and sprinkle over meat. Add tomatoes, onions, green pepper and celery.
- Cover pan and roast at 350 degrees for about 3 hours or until tender, or cook over low heat on top of stove for same length of time.
- Add water, if necessary.
