1 lb. ground beef
2 med. onions
1/2 c. finely chopped parsley leaves. Substitute celery leaves if desired.
1/2 tsp. turmeric
2 tbl oil
1 med. tomato
1/2 can tomato paste
1 tbl sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 pkg. frozen Okra (defrost and rinse well)
Salt and pepper to taste
About 3 cups water

Directions

  1. Put ground beef into a bowl and add 1 finely grated onion.
  2. Add chopped parsley (or celery) leaves, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, salt and pepper.
  3. Add a little water to hold the mixture together, mix well with hands then form into small balls.
  4. Chop the remaining onion finely and sauté with oil until golden brown.
