Ingredients
6 matzoh squares, broken in pieces
2 eggs, separated
1 apple, peeled and diced
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
Salt, to taste
Sugar, to taste
Directions
- Cover matzohs with water then squeeze out as much as possible. Add apple and shortening.
- Beat yolks into matzoh mixture, season with salt and sugar to taste.
- Beat egg whites until stiff, then gently fold into matzoh mixture.
- Pour into greased casserole dish and bake at 300 degrees (F) about 1 hr. or until top has an even brown crust.
