Replace chicken bouillion with vegetable or chicken flavored parve bouillion for a parve version.

Ingredients

1/2 cup lentils
2 cubes chicken bouillon
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 cup rice, long grain
1/2 cup parsley, minced
3 cups water

Directions

  1. Place rinsed lentils in a saucepan and add water, bouillon, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, covered.
  3. Add the rice, return to a quick boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is done. Add water if necessary to make sure rice is cooked through.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in minced parsley and serve!
