I was born in Calcutta of parents that migrated from israel and Iraq as it was then known. I for the past 40 years resided in Australia. My grandmother was a legendary cook and realised that i have a feel for cooking and in that vein I'm attempting to cook from memory some of the food of my grandmother and mother all of which I not only adored the flavours and smells of but also to which I'm definitely addicted. I now seek help from those masters of sephardic cooking who know the recipes to which I only have names. I have always regarded my cooking as an act of love of the food and its creators.
