Ingredients

2 lb. hamburger
2 cans chicken soup
10 medium onions
Oil for sautéing
4 eggs
1 box matza
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Salt and pepper to taste.

Directions

  1. Cook hamburger with one can chicken soup, about 1/2 hour or until liquid cooks down. Add salt and pepper.
  2. Dice and fry onions in oil until medium brown. Drain and add to cooked meat.
  3. Add eggs and mix thoroughly.
  4. Heat second can of soup and dip matza quickly on both sides.
  5. Trim moistened matza to cover bottom of a large 9x13 inch baking dish (greased). Spread meat mixture evenly. Cover with more moistened matzo. Sprinkle remaining soup, oil and chopped nuts on top.
  6. Bake at 425 degrees (F) for 30 minutes.
  7. Cover to cool, then cut in squares.
