Ingredients

1/3 cup parve margarine, melted
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup plus 1 tbl. all-purpose flour

Topping:
1/2 cup parve margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla until white. Add melted margarine and mix.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder and add to egg mixture, mixing lightly.
  3. Pour in greased (okay, 'margarined') 10 inch pan and bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees (F).
  4. While cake is baking, prepare the topping. Melt the margarine on medium heat, add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Pour the topping gently on the cake and return it to the oven for another 20 minutes.
