Passover Matzo Rolls

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tbl sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup water
2 cups matzo meal
4 eggs


  1. In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add the oil, sugar, and salt to the water and return to a boil.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the matzo meal all at once.
  4. Stir vigorously then place over low heat, stirring continuously until the batter forms a compact ball.
  5. Remove from the heat and beat in the eggs, 1 at a time, beating vigorously after each egg. Batter should be thick and smooth.
  6. Shape the batter into 8 to 10 balls and place them about 2 inches apart on a well-greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 375F for 1 hour, until golden brown.
  8. Cool on paper towels on a wire rack.
