Brisket Roast

Add potatoes to the roasting pan to make a complete meal. Add potatoes for the last hour and add extra salt if you do so.

Ingredients

4 lb. brisket of beef
3 tbs. cake meal
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups cooked or canned tomatoes
2 medium onions, sliced
1 small green pepper, diced
1/2 cup diced celery.

Directions

  1. Brown meat slowly in heavy roasting pan
  2. Combine cake meal, salt, pepper and garlic powder and sprinkle over meat. Add tomatoes, onions, green pepper and celery.
  3. Cover pan and roast at 350 degrees for about 3 hours or until tender, or cook over low heat on top of stove for same length of time.
  4. Add water, if necessary.
