9 oz sesame seeds, toasted
2 lbs. dates, pitted
1 lb. raisins
1 cup almonds, chopped
1 cup walnuts, chopped
4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cardamom
1/2 tsp. salt


  1. Toast sesame seeds in a dry non-stick pan.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan with a small amount of water (about 1/4 cup, mix should be moist but not soupy).
  3. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes, adding water if necessary.
