Eastern Uganda has been home to a small community of Jews, the Abayudaya (people of Judah) since the early 20th century. This community includes about 800 people and is growing! (Cooking times are estimates).

Ingredients

2 kilos of wheat flour
2 mugs full of water
Sunflower oil
pinch salt

Directions

  1. Add salt to water, then add flour and mix.
  2. Knead until smooth, then roll with a rolling pin until thin.
  3. Cook in sunflower oil until slightly brown.
